Fed Voting Language
After the 16Sep2026 FOMC meeting I heard an economist on a popular podcast suggest that there might have been some hidden meaning within the FOMC’s latest press release.

They noticed that the most release press release didn’t say that they voted unanimously in favor of the rate hike, but rather than they voted in favor of the press release.

The implication being that perhaps there was disagreement about the actual policy move, but that the Chair was able at least to get everyone to agree to the statement.

What troubles me about using this as a precedent is that the June meeting had the same language as the Sep press release. The similarity was that both were unanimous.
